Please check...do you mean the Island of La Palma...you are not getting confused with Las Palmas, which is the capital of Gran Canaria, i think some other people did!!

La Palma is one of the smallest of the Canary Islands and is likened to Haiwian or South China Sea islands because of it's greenery and beauty!

Follow this link to find all you need to know about the small and beautiful, but very quiet island of La Palma...

The Island of La Palma

At the northwest of the Canaries archipelago , a few hundred miles from the coast of north-west Africa, lies the island of La Palma, also known as La Isla Bonita, because of its extraordinary natural beauty.

La Palma is one of the smaller of the Canary islands, with a surface area of 706 square kilometres and a population of only 80,000. It is unusual in that it rises exceptionally steeply from the ocean, the entire central mountain range exceeding 2000 m in altitude. The highest point on the island is the Roque de los Muchachos (2426 m), the location of the astronomical observatory .

I've lived in Lanzarote and Tenerife (presently in Tenerife!). La Palma is a very quiet island compared to the bigger islands. Imagine the Canaries 100 years ago and that's La Palma. It's untouched and still very beautiful. If you're looking for a party night life then forget La Palma, its not an island for young people wanting an 18-30 holiday. It's a place to relax and forget your troubles. Visit http://www.mundolapalma.com or http://www.infoisla.org (this page is only in Spanish though!). Sure you'll enjoy it! Most of the tourists are German, the Irish go to Lanzarote, the Brits tend to go to Tenerife and Gran Canaria and the Germans like Fuerteventura and La Palma. There seems to be a lot of tourism in Breña Baja which is near La Palma the capital. Enjoy yout trip!

The Canary Islands are identified if you are the sun heart of Europe! See this sunshine with hotelbye . Canary Islands provide a gentle conditions and a range of fantastic organic attractions. Five of its seven islands have been reported a Biosphere Reserve, and the archipelago has four national parks. Probably the most exceptional attractions in Canary Islands would be the beaches since they are just great for relaxing in the sun or enjoying water sports such as for example windsurfing and scuba diving. In Canary Islands you will also be impressing by the interior appeal like: climbing, pattern touring, climbing and also caving. Some of the very spectacular attractions of Canary Islands are: the volcanic scenery of Lanzarote, the beaches of Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria making use of their mud dunes, or the green forests of La Palma and La Gomera.

La Palma is one of the least known Canary Islands and is one of the smaller Canary Islands. There's no mass-tourism here. Enjoy the peace and quiet of this friendly, green island. Santa Cruz de La Palma is the capital of the island and is situated on the east coast close to the airport.

It's great but most turists are germans.

Here's a tip: you must stay at some beach and NOT in the city of Palma.
